Fee Schedule
Flat fee versus hourly billing:
As a general rule, Wyoming Criminal Defense Lawyers, LLC fee schedule is a flat fee for pretrial work, and hourly billing during trial.
Examples of typical fees:
$500-$1,000 - Most non-jailable offenses (we DO NOT represent clients for minor traffic offenses like speeding, commercial vehicle violations, etcetera);
$5,000 - $7,500 - Most misdemeanor offenses such as DUI, drug possession, domestic abuse, etcetera;
$10,000+ - All felony offenses. The retainer can vary significantly based on the nature of the felony charge(s).
Flat fee pretrial work:
Because we have defended clients charged with thousands of different crimes, we are able to quote flat fee representation agreements for pretrial work. The flat fee encompasses all aspects of your representation including the initial consultation, plea deal negotiations, all hearings including any suppression hearings, bond hearings, motion in limine hearings, bond revocation hearings, as well as discovery review and ongoing communication with the client.
As almost all criminal cases are resolved short of trial by plea agreement, dismissal, or other outcome, this flat fee is typically the total out of pocket costs for the client. IF the case proceeds to trial, an additional retainer is required and hourly billing commences at the pretrial conference. The cost per day for trial is $3,000. Most misdemeanor trials are one day long, while felony trials can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Costs that are not included in the flat fee retainer:
The flat fee is exclusive of certain costs, including discovery production fees, transcription fees, investigator fees, expert witness fees, travel fees, and other fees, if applicable. IF these costs are necessary, we will consult with the client for pre-approval for the expenses and bill the client monthly.
